Direct all aspects of the YRP STEM outreach program which supports high school students from underrepresented backgrounds gain applied research experience and college preparation.• Coordinate research opportunities with graduate students, professors and postdoctoral scholars to mentor local high school students within the area.• Secured program funding by preparing staff to submit successful applications for the ‘Good Neighbors Grant’, sustaining budgetary needs for summer initiatives.• Oversee program operations by delegating responsibilities to coordinators, as well as and supervising their performance amongst financial, recruitment, fieldtrips, and weekly seminar boards.• Led admissions review process of high school applicants by evaluating their personal statements and application materials, then select 10 exceptional students in collaboration with the program board.• Organized and hosted the annual YRP Poster Symposium which entails high school students presenting their summer research projects to USC faculty, peers, and community members.• Gave speeches to the students about college readiness, expectations in the lab and pathways for their future careers• Utilized Adobe suite to create award certificates and signed document requests to students and their mentors.• Facilitated disbursement of summer stipends for both students and their mentors.
