Dear Colleagues,In the digital era, wearable healthcare technologies are coming into focus in the field of cardiology and are being widely adopted by patients and consumers worldwide. Wearables include wristwatches, smartphones, patches, electronic skins, headbands, fitness trackers, eye-glasses, necklaces, clothing, and rings that are applied to screening, diagnosing, and monitoring treatments and outcomes. More and more wearables and related technologies focusing on remote and long-term cardiac monitoring are being developed. However, in order to introduce these new technologies to the daily clinical setting, the limitations and challenges posed by them and the way to overcome potential errors need to be understood.The present Special Issue aims to highlight some of the latest developments in the field of health tracking wearables, focusing on advances in cardiac monitoring. With this letter, we welcome the submission of cutting-edge original research papers and case reports, viewpoints as well as state-of-the-art reviews and meta-analyses on the topic of wearables for cardiac monitoring.We look forward to your contributions in this exciting, rapidly evolving field.

ABOUT ALIREZA SEPEHRI SHAMLOO

More than ten years of work experience in designing, drafting, conducting, and supervising clinical research projects (more than twenty clinical trials) with solid knowledge of clinical study processes, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other guidelines.• Working experience as a Medical Doctor and a Clinical Researcher at cardiology and cardiac surgery departments in different countries (Iran, Italy, Germany)• Strong knowledge of research-based software (such as SPSS, CMA, RevMan, Meta-Disk, MS Office, etc,)• Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, which enabled me to be one of the best Clinical Research Methodology trainers in my country with more than hours of teaching experience• Excellent supervisory and organizational skills (More than twenty records for successful project management such as international conferences, medical companies, launching new journals, etc.)• Fluent English (oral and written; IELTS: 7.5) and familiarity with the German language (B2/C1 certificate) I am passionate about promoting environmental healthcare issues. As such, I have always pursued a career in this field and have found great personal fulfillment in my studies and work experience to date. For example, I was given the opportunity to contribute to an invention that was selected as one of the best inventions during the annual European Cardiothoracic Surgeons Conference in 2013. Moreover, I have always tried to participate in international initiatives (e.g, as President of the International Federation of Medical Students Association [IFMSA-IRAN]) to promote the exchange of educational and scientific knowledge among people in my country and my international colleagues. These responsibilities, along with my other assignments (such as an editor and reviewer of international journals), have enabled me to develop strong organizational skills and become a responsible individual.
