About Aline Reynolds
By the year 2050, well more than half of the world\'s population will be living in cities. Urban planners of the 21st century must help prepare cities for population booms, particularly with respect to their infrastructure capacity and climate resiliency.I am passionate about sustainability initiatives and, more broadly, about improving people\'s quality of life by way of enhancements to the built and physical environments. I would like to continue to devote my planning and communications career to assisting in the revitalization of urban and regional areas. Specifically, I am interested in projects and initiatives aimed at improving sustainability/resiliency, transportation (in particular, mass transit), and open space. As a Board member of the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board, I am knowledgeable about zero-waste and other sustainability initiatives. My specialties and interests are: technical writing and editing, construction management and storm resiliency planning, public outreach, environmental policy and sustainability, open space strategy development, transportation planning, land use planning, and qualitative analysis/research. My colleagues and classmates in the fields of planning and journalism can attest that I am ambitious, hard-working, and self-motivated. I enjoy both collaborating and working individually.
Experience
Senior Technical Communications Manager
Dec 2021 — Present · NY, US
I lead the written and verbal communications output of this state agency’s Design & Construction Department. I create, edit, and proofread a range of technical planning documents — including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract amendments and change orders, and on-call contract job orders — that are prepared for design/engineering firms, construction management firms, general contractor firms, and other entities and stakeholders with ties to Battery Park City. I often interface directly with BPCA’s consultants and contractors regarding procurement and project-related matters. I also participate in the planning and communication of BPCA’s Earth Week/Climate Week and zero waste initiatives.
