ABOUT ALINA HAFNER

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Information Systems at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where my research examines how Generative AI transforms business processes and human–AI collaboration.Alongside my research, I teach business process management, software engineering, AI, data engineering, and scientific methods across multiple universities. I bring extensive hands-on industry experience from ERP development, process analytics, and consulting engagements, bridging academic research with real-world application.I have also been involved in entrepreneurial initiatives focused on collective intelligence and animal wellbeing. As a co-founder of FaunaAI, I worked on developing AI-based approaches to better understand and support animals. In parallel, I hold multiple elected doctoral governance roles at TUM, including serving as Speaker of the TUM Graduate Council, representing all doctoral candidates at the university. Through these roles, I engage in university-level decision-making, policy discussions, and strategic dialogue across councils and committees.I am particularly committed to leadership and mentoring initiatives that support first-generation students and women in STEM. Beyond my professional work, I am interested in politics, social mobility, and education.
