Alina Anghel is an international journalist, translator, interpreter, storyteller and communications specialist with 15+ years experience reporting at the highest levels of her home country - Romania. The winner of an Edward R Murrow award and a Foreign Press Center Award, she is currently senior editor of the International News Department at Antena 3 CNN, the leading national network in Romania with viewership in the multi millions. An on-air anchor of international news, she also reports in the field and serves as an on-air English/Romanian translator for press conferences, NATO Summits, packages, events and more. Alina has 20+ years experience as a journalist working in both television and print, including reporting for three additional national networks in Romania and three national newspapers. She began her journalism career at the age of 15, working at a local newspaper. Passionate, dedicated and relationship driven, she is committed to a wide range of international advocacy issues and has also spent 8 years working with nonprofits and NGOs. She’s worked with the Salvation Army of Romania and a program to support refugees. She spent 4 years as a translator and volunteer in an orphanage, did communication work for a program bringing disadvantaged children together to form an orchestra and spent several years working at an NGO that organized a film festival for the visually impaired.
