I specialize in applying advanced crystallographic techniques to understand protein function and guide drug discovery for validated therapeutic targets. My research has focused heavily on variable temperature and high-pressure crystallography to capture protein conformational landscapes, revealing hidden states relevant to enzymatic regulation and ligand binding in protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs). These methods have provided insights into the temperature- and pressure-dependent dynamics of PTPs, leading to a number of peer-reviewed publications.In parallel, I’ve led and contributed to drug fragment screening campaigns using X-ray crystallography, identifying and characterizing small molecule fragments that bind to functional sites of therapeutic targets. These efforts feed directly into structure-based drug design pipelines, where I work closely with medicinal chemists to optimize fragments into lead compounds. I’ve collaborated across interdisciplinary teams to iteratively combine structural data with medicinal chemistry strategies, informing SAR, prioritizing analogs, and validating mechanism of action.
