About Aliana de Guardia
I am blessed to have had a distinctive career as an operatic soprano specializing in new music and new opera, as a non-profit arts leader, and dedicated mentor with Panorama Boston writing that I have “made a significant impact on the music industry to date.”As an experienced nonprofit executive and artist, I bring a blend of visionary leadership and practical management ability. During my tenure as an Executive and Artistic Leader at Guerilla Opera, we created initiatives that resulted in significant growth in our operating budget, even amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Strategic decision-making, rooted in community engagement and data-driven analysis, allowed us to adapt authentically to the shifting needs of our stakeholders, enhance program effectiveness, and expand our national and international impact. My approach to leadership emphasizes collaboration, empowerment, and inclusivity. I have successfully led multidisciplinary teams, fostering an environment of mutual respect and creativity. At Guerilla Opera, I established programs to mentor and develop emerging leaders, including a transformative internship program that integrates reflective practices and career development. This initiative, informed by direct feedback, reflects my commitment to cultivating future leaders and aligning organizational goals with individual goals.I am committed to progressive artistry. Through Guerilla Opera’s multidisciplinary experimental productions and community engagement programs, I am an integral member of a team that fosters critical conversations and cultivates empathy by amplifying diverse voices and stories through the transformative power of the arts.In addition to my leadership roles, I have cultivated expertise in governance, financial management, and operational strategy through formal training and hands-on experience. As a graduate of the Philanthropy Massachusetts Nonprofit Learning Institute and a candidate in Rider University’s Life and Career Coaching certificate program, I combine analytical acumen with a people-centered approach to drive sustainable growth and mission alignment.I am able to navigate complex organizational landscapes and implement strategic initiatives. Whether conducting SWOT analyses, managing cross-functional teams, or aligning programs with an organization’s core mission, I am adept at turning challenges into opportunities and delivering measurable results.
