ABOUT ALICK MACANGUS

Since the beginning of my career, my passion for engineering caused me to be enthusiastic in all my roles within the Oil, Gas, Renewable Energy Industries. With over 20 years of experience in the Subsea Oil and Gas Industry and several years Developing Businesses, including Start-Ups, I have taken every opportunity to gain experience, which allowed me to develop a solid practical background. I have enjoyed progression through hard work in my career and have had many roles where I have embraced large responsibilities and demonstrated integrity and accountability. I enjoy working in and leading teams where I recognise and utilise other team members\' qualities and experience. I enjoy overcoming challenges and applying innovative measures where possible. I am not afraid to take on new challenges and work to a very high professional standard. I am proud to have achieved a Master of Science in Oil and Gas Innovation from Robert Gordons University in 2018, and in 2020, I commenced a Master of Business Administration at the Jack Welch Management Institute. My personal values include- Perseverance: To me, perseverance means taking those failures and owning them—understanding why they happened and using the experience to succeed. Perseverance is about understanding that failures are necessary and they are the “stepping stones of success!” - Success is a team effort: Having a great team around you is essential. A great team is a group of individuals who are aligned in their vision. A great team member cares for their teammates\' wellbeing, and they help each other succeed. Members of a great team understand that outstanding achievements cannot be attained independently- Deliver on targets and celebrate them: We need to set ourselves targets for improvement, then break them down into smaller milestone achievements. If we can celebrate those small achievements one by one and then build on them, we will always move in the right direction. Delivering on targets and celebrating them gives us a feeling of achievement- Strive for Happiness at work: If you love what you do, you will be great at it. Happiness means that you enjoy life and you show it. A happy person is confident; they are more creative, have more energy, and work harder. They look back and appreciate more challenging times and value the life lessons learned from them.
