About Alicia Mitchell-Mercer

Greetings! I work at the intersection of law, project management, and process improvement. My work involves integrating appropriate methodologies and frameworks, such as Predictive, Agile, and Hybrid, into legal projects. My consulting work includes project management training, analyzing workflows, reengineering processes, and maximizing quality and productivity through team development. I work closely with government agencies, litigators, and corporate legal departments, acting as a liaison between businesses and outside counsel to streamline processes and reduce legal expenditures. I have also worked as a FINRA Arbitrator in recent years and have an active caseload. I am responsible for hearing the evidence presented by both sides, interpreting the relevant laws and regulations, and making a decision on the dispute. The FINRA arbitration process is essential because it provides investors with a forum to resolve disputes with financial firms relatively quickly and cost-effectively without going to court. My background before my current roles includes military service as a linguist and human intelligence collector, experience as a tour coordinator for the late Luciano Pavarotti and the Three Tenors under the Rudas Organization, working as a gallery administrator for Richard MacDonald Galleries, and my segue into the legal field as a former paralegal. I am passionate about learning new skills that will help me advocate effectively for improving the legal system. When I\'m not working or spending time with family, I focus on doctoral studies in public policy and administration, advocate for children\'s rights through volunteer work as a Guardian ad Litem, and work with other non-profit organizations such as Compassion International and Autism Speaks.
