About Alicia Barnhart
for a visual resume. Growing up as an avid baseball and football fan, I thought a career in sports media was in my future. After working as a producer at a local radio station, I realized this path wasn\'t for me and pivoted to event management. From my brief stint in radio, I learned to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment and developed a thick skin. These lessons allowed me to excel while leading teams in the field as we acted as the face of high-profile brands to consumers. Event Management helped me hone my communication skills as I exceeded sales goals, put out fires, and kept my teammate\'s spirits up during at times 14-hour days. While I loved the unique opportunities afforded to me in these freelance positions, I began to feel like something was missing and started to think about what I really wanted in a career. I\'ve always felt a rush of excitement while working at tech events like CES and enjoyed my brief coding experiences while writing my passion project, Sports Wanderlust. Learning to code felt like the logical first step and I knew Tech Elevator was my door to a world of innovation where the limit does not exist. Now as I begin my tech career, I look forward to new people, experiences, challenges, and the opportunity to flex my brain.
