ABOUT ALICIA WONGEL

A fascination with how the universe is built from just a few fundamental particles led me to study physics and specialize in particle physics. I contributed to large-scale international collaborations advancing our understanding of nature at the smallest scales. Over time, I became increasingly drawn to applying scientific approaches to real-world challenges, particularly in energy, technology, and climate.Motivated by the urgency of climate change, I shifted my focus toward energy systems modeling and low-carbon technology analysis. My recent work explores the role of emerging clean technologies, such as energy storage and renewables, in today’s grids and future decarbonized systems. This includes techno-economic modeling, system optimization, and scenario analysis using Python and scientific computing tools to evaluate trade-offs in cost, emissions, and reliability.With experience living and working in the Netherlands, Austria, Canada, Germany, and the US, I bring a global perspective and thrive in interdisciplinary, cross-cultural teams. I enjoy collaborating across technical and non-technical domains to develop scalable, data-driven solutions.Now, I’m excited to apply my analytical skills, research mindset, and systems thinking to innovative cleantech companies accelerating the energy transition.
