About Alicia Miller
I\'ve been teaching group fitness since 2009 and training and developing instructors since 2013. I\'ve worked everywhere from small gyms to nationally recognized brands. By the time Flywheel closed its doors, I was a seasoned Talent Development Coach and Master Instructor having trained several instructors in different regions. As a cycle instructor, in addition to teaching busy prime time classes, I specialized in building slower timeslots into successful ones through consistency and forming a community among Flywheel riders. My instructor philosophy is that clients should never be lost or confused, they should feel successful and they should have fun. The 2020 pandemic caused me to pivot and develop skills in Small Group Training and HIIT style classes. I earned my Personal Trainer certificate and grew at Life Time Fitness, certifying in several of their Signature Formats. In March 2020 I was among the first group of instructors at Shred415 Seattle. I also began offering livestream classes via Zoom that continued until 2022.In addition to being their Codirector of Fitness, I also delighted in learning new skills at Flow Fitness Seattle, assisting in graphic design for social media posts and managing large studio instructors who teach formats such as Les Mills BodyCombat and HIGH Fitness. My approach to training instructors involves setting clear expectations, meeting people where they are and developing their skills based on their different needs and learning styles. The development process continues after new instructors hit the schedule. They receive follow up support and feedback throughout their entire tenure with me. Not only am I passionate about training new instructors, but I love crafting continuing education workshops for existing instructors to help them continue to master their craft. New instructors should be prepared when they begin teaching, but they should also have several opportunities to team build and learn together as they go.The fitness industry has helped me build confidence as a public speaker, it has eliminated my fear of being vulnerable and has introduced me to several different networks of talented individuals Core beliefs:I believe in leadership that gives space for people to be self-reflective. I believe in communication and honesty. I do my best to praise and lift up my teams. I am open to feedback from my superiors and my subordinates. I\'m a team player who leads by example. I have fierce brand loyalty.
