ABOUT ALICIA MCEWAN

I am a senior-level strategist with 20 years of experience leading innovative communications and public affairs programs and campaigns in Canada and internationally (UK/Europe). I\'ve created and implemented impactful, award-winning strategies for large projects (BC Hydro\'s Site C, Port Mann/Highway 1, and the Sea to Sky Highway projects), higher education providers (University of Bath and Institute of Coding), leading consumer brands, and non-profits (Tech Talent Charter). I currently work as a manager with WorkSafeBC’s media and government relations team, responsible for government relations. In this role, I manage WorkSafeBC\'s MLA Liaison Program. Previously, I lived in the UK temporarily and worked as the Director of Marketing and Communications with Tech Talent Charter. I was also the Head of Marketing and Communications for the multi-million-pound Institute of Coding (IoC) at the University of Bath. I led the IoC\'s marketing and communications program and the award-winning, diversity-focused CTRL Your Future student engagement campaign, which contributed to the enrolment of more than students in short, accessible digital skills courses. My proven skillset includes strategic planning and communications, government relations, public affairs, issues management, media relations, marketing, organic and paid social media strategy, construction communications, public consultation, stakeholder engagement, writing services, and event management.
