In my role as the Program Director for the Bachelor of Integrated Studies (BIS), my responsibilities include:• developing, managing, and assessing short and long terms goals • conducting the business of BIS while establishing productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders • leading BIS in activities consistent with the core values and strategic goals of the College• developing a strategic plan for the program that is aligned with those of the College and School • managing all aspects of BIS budget• preparing complex assessments and annual reviews• overseeing introductory and capstone BIS courses, including curriculum, scheduling and staffing plans• recruiting and supervising qualified adjuncts • serving as primary point of contact and counsel for prospective and current BIS students• demonstrating a commitment to the distinct qualities of adult non-traditional undergraduate students, traditional undergraduate students, and online learners

ABOUT ALICE HAMILTON
Dr. Alice Hamilton is a seasoned administrator, educator, and performer, whose academic appointments and stage credits have spanned four countries. Dr. Hamilton began her theatrical career in her native Canada, where she held numerous leading and supporting roles in professional theatre companies, university productions and festivals. In the 30 years since, she has served as a theatre director in Canada, Japan, and the United States, overseeing professional and university productions. Dr. Hamilton has enjoyed a lengthy career in administration, serving as Department Head and Assistant Dean of Theatre and Dramatic Arts, at the University of Lethbridge. She helped to establish the Maui Language Institute at the University of Hawaii Maui College, where she spent 13 years as Program Director. During her tenure there, she also taught in the University of Hawaii – Manoa Interdisciplinary Bachelors degree program. In 2017, Dr. Hamilton began offering a series of executive training workshops, including Executive Presence, Professional Presentations, Improvisation for Business, and Design Thinking; the latter based off of training received through Harvard\'s Professional Development Programs. Dr. Hamilton served as the Director of the Center for Continuing and Professional Education at the College of Charleston, an appointment she held from 20••••20. In this role, she launched the successful start-up of the English Language Institute, Professional Development, Licensing Programs, Executive Education, Personal Enrichment and Retirement offerings. Most recently, she has assumed the directorship of the CofC Integrated Studies Program.
