Within my role I am based within the Maintenance routes across Kent and Sussex. I additionally cover Enhancements construction projects, such as \'Access for all\' schemes, across Kent and Sussex- Achieved the Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification- I complete regular Level 2 assurance activities at the Maintenance, Operational and working sites to ensure environmental legislation compliance. I ensure to talk to the site teams and Senior Leadership of the site, to encourage positive environmental management and behaviours. With each assurance activity I make sure to give actions when needed to improve the site environmentally, for example through biodiversity improvements- I work alongside Senior Leadership to complete thematic projects, such as water, to reduce Network Rail\'s water footprint- I have periodic reviews with contractors to ensure environmental compliance and improvements on our Enhancements construction projects across Kent and Sussex- I regularly correspond with our site teams, our in house ecology team and environmental third parties,(for example the Environment Agency,) to give advice and assistance surrounding environmental compliance and any potential close calls or incidents- Regularly volunteer with charities representing Network Rail, for example with Shelter or Croydon Commitment- I created a working relationship with the charity Croydon Commitment and Network Rail to provide regular volunteering opportunities for individuals across the Croydon Delivery Unit and wider across the region. This not only improves the social sustainability of Network Rail and ways of helping our local community but provides opportunities for improved well being for employees at Network Rail.

An experience involving working and liaising with individuals from over 30 countries- Sustainability Consultant for Sutton Borough Council, concentrated on waste management for the Borough- A Green Auditor for NUS UK, focused on a quantitative approach to environmental actions- Green Consultant for the University of Exeter, with a directed on reducing carbon emissions and water usage for the University- Sustainability Consultant for Taylor’s of Harrogate centralised on creating marketing material for the ESG team.
