ABOUT ALICE TABE-EBOB

I am Alice Tabe-Ebob, BSN, RN, CMSRN, a Float Pool nurse at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and an Executive Master’s in Clinical Quality, Safety & Leadership (EM-CQSL) candidate at Georgetown University. I do patient safety work in the real world: busy units, competing priorities, and decisions made fast.Because I float across 22 units, I spot reliability gaps and workaround traps early. I turn those patterns into practical, measurable fixes that make the safe choice the easy choice. In partnership with frontline nurses, patient care technicians (PCTs), nursing leaders and physicians, I helped build and test an RN–PCT collaboration standard using Plan–Do–Study–Act (PDSA) cycles, achieving a 73% reduction in falls with pre/post data. That’s the work I love: strengthening teamwork, standardizing what works, and improving outcomes.I currently serve as Chair of the Evidence-Based Practice and Research Council and I’m building a Patient Safety Council pilot focused on near-miss learning, good catches, and unit-level changes teams can sustain.Poster presenter: Nursing Research & Innovation Conference (March 2026).Scholarship recipient (MedStar Institute for Quality & Safety)| DAISY Award | MWHC Standard Service Behavior Award | Nominated: CNO Excellence Award, ANCC 2025 Pathway Nurse of the Year#PatientSafety #QualityImprovement #NursingLeadership #HighReliability #EvidenceBasedPractice
