With over 11 years’ experience in footwear design and manufacturing, I’ve helped international fashion retailers such as Zalando, BATA, Global Fashion Group, and FILA develop profitable collections and grow their market share. In recent years, I’ve also been focusing on Sustainability Development & Management to bridge the gap between sustainability demands and the practical issues in creating truly sustainable yet profitable footwear. In addition to hands-on experience co-developing Zalando’s Sustainability Criteria for Footwear Design & Production, I am an active Ambassador for Circularity & Sustainability in the company. I recently completed several business courses in Sustainable Fashion to upskill and deepen my knowledge in this niche. It’s time for us in the fashion industry to step up efforts in embracing sustainability, not just in design and manufacturing, but also in the complete supply chain and product lifecycle. Where and how it is produced, as well as what happens at the end of the product lifecycle, are critical issues that need to be addressed in creating truly sustainable products. I look forward to tackling these challenges (and more!) together as we work towards creating a greener future within the fashion industry.
