ABOUT ALICE GUIMARAES
Self-starter and highly motivated professional in water and tailings. I hold two BSc. degrees (Biological sciences and Civil engineering) and currently pursuing my PhD in Mining engineering at UBC. My background entails over 10 years experience in water and tailings management both in mining operational, corporate and consultancy settings in Brazil and Canada. Main main areas of expertise are related to water risk assessments, site wide and tailings facilities water balances, environmental control systems, permitting, risk assessments and conformance to international standards in mining (ICMM,GISTM, TSM, etc.). I am committed to safety and improving water and tailings issues globally. Native in Portuguese, fluent in English and Spanish advanced.
