ABOUT ALICE EASON JENKINS

Alice was employed at The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, Inc. in Atlanta, for 8 years. While employed at The King Center, she held a variety of positions; including Executive Assistant, Coordinator of the 30th Anniversary of the historic March on Washington, Program Associate for the Community Empowerment Initiative, travel assistant to Mrs. Coretta Scott King, Coordinator of the Annual Holiday Activities and Facilitator of Nonviolence Training Workshops. Alice continues her relationship with The King Center as a volunteer for the annual awards dinner and the holiday Commemorative Service. Alice began her career at FSC in 1997 as coordinator of their annual fundraiser. She has since moved to Director of Administration, Co- Director and presently serves as the Executive Director. Alice represents the FSC on the Board of Directors for Georgia Shares and The Funding Exchange. An active member of historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, Alice serves on the Church Life and Program Committee, the Membership Nurture and Care Committee, Women’s Missionary Union, and past Chair of the Church and Pastor’s Anniversary celebration, former Director of the Youth Ministry, Covenant Community Leader and Cub Scott leader. Over the past 25 years, Alice has been active in many political campaigns; including the election of Mayor Andrew J. Young (Atlanta), Congressman John Lewis (5th district, GA), Commissioner Martin Luther King (Fulton County, GA), and President William Jefferson Clinton (United States). Some of Alice’s community affiliations include: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, The Atlanta Ministry With International Students, National Council of Negro Women, The King Center, Continental Societies Inc. and Decatur Alumni Silhouette. Alice is married to Jeffery Jenkins. They have one son and resides in Stockbridge, Georgia.
