My work bridges engineering expertise with automation and geospatial analysis to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.Key Responsibilities:• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for projects such as FEMA’s FFRD, Louisiana Watershed Initiative (LWI), and San Benito, including model development, calibration, and results analysis.• Design and develop custom Python tools for HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 2D, DSS file workflows, and consequence analysis.• Conduct geospatial analysis for model support, including raster reprojection, merging, and shapefile-based data extraction and aggregation using GDAL, Rasterio, and GeoPandas.• Collaborate across teams to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and improve reproducibility in flood modeling.• Contribute to internal Thought Leadership through participation in the Tools & Automation Working Group and the Conference Planning Group.Key Achievements:• Built over 10 specialized automation tools, including:o RAS and HMS Exporter: Converts model input/output layers into structured GDB files, integrating geospatial processing for raster and vector data.o DSS Tools: Automate DSS file manipulation for rainfall and discharge series, enhancing modeling efficiency.o Storm Transposition Toolkit: Supports joint probability analysis and spatial shifting of rainfall grids for extreme event studies.o Consequence Analysis Automation: Python package combining GO-Consequence and HEC-FIA workflows, managing raster projections, file structures, and result reporting.• Reduced manual processing time across projects, increased modeling accuracy, and contributed to the strategic development of scalable tools.• Explored integration of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery to support cloud-based modeling pipelines.
