About Ali Birjandi
Ali Birjandi has over 25 years of experience in healthcare Performance Improvement including: Financial turnaround plans, throughput optimization, labor management, non-labor expense reduction, supply chain optimization, physician alignment, hardwiring excellence, LOS reduction, high reliability and zero harm planning, Lean huddle implementation, PMO development, revenue cycle management, and organizational benchmarking. Additionally, Ali has developed high performing PI programs in major national healthcare systems by developing a PI vision, doing a Gap analysis, conducting a resource assessment, developing governance, and developing educational courses in Lean and Six Sigma to mobilize the organization towards best practices. Responsible for major expense reduction strategies that are on track to produce over $56M in cost reduction and revenue enhancement projects in just the last year at CHRISTUS Northeast Texas Region. Ali was instrumental in winning the Truven Advantage Award for top Operational Efficiency program in 2016 and 2017. Prior to joining Christus Health, Ali worked for Tenet Health System, as the COO of palm Beach Gardens and was instrumental in improving operations in the Florida region. Prior to Tenet, Ali was the VP of Operational Efficiency at ProMedica Health System. Prior to ProMedica, Ali was at Carle Clinic and Hospitals in Champaign Urbana, Illinois. Ali earned a BS degree from the University of Florida in 1993, along with MBA and MHA degrees. Ali is certified as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt through ASQ and is trained in Lean methodologies. Additionally, he is a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems through HIMSS. Ali has been a national presenter at major conferences, has published many articles on operational optimization and authored two books in healthcare. Ali is also a US Veteran.
