With over 2 decades of programming experience, Alfus is passionate about solving complex business problems using technology. His unique skillset and extensive knowledge, gained through working with multiple customers across various domains and technologies, position him as a thought leader, influencer, polyglot engineer, and hands-on architect. Alfus has led and executed numerous in-house and customer engagements, driving successful business outcomes. Now, as a Sr. Architect focused on Enterprise Data and Analytics, he is responsible for defining technology roadmaps, driving data modernization, and implementing cloud-native and AI/ML solutions to transform business capabilities at scale. His diverse experience includes- Building software and products that matter to customers using Lean Agile methodologies and Extreme Programming techniques- Modernizing mainframe systems & decomposing legacy Microsoft tech-based monoliths, migrating (re-platforming) to containers, event-driven architecture, and microservices using Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, etc- Automating and streamlining internal processes, and enhancing internal tools and products using AI/ML capabilities- Implementing infrastructural components and services onto targeted data center platforms- Executing data modernization by establishing modern data architecture practices, improving data analytics, and enhancing machine learning capabilities- Assisting customers with on-prem data center exits to the cloud, including landscape discovery, roadmap creation, workload prioritization, and the development of repeatable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines- Conducting health checks on applications and infrastructural components- Guiding customers through their portfolio modernization journey from discovery and roadmaps to delivering transformation at scale- Providing customers with a multi-dimensional view of their data centers through advanced exploration techniques.Alfus has created several NuGet packages, Cloud Foundry build-packs, and bootstrapping templates, and has contributed to several other open-source projects.
