The Credit and Collections Supervisor in the Credit Unit plays a key role in City Lights’ effort to collect money owed to the Utility. They plan, schedule and direct the work of subordinates engaged in office and field collection activities, as well as energy assistance efforts. The Credit and Collections Supervisor is committed to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Credit and Collections Manager in the Customer Care Division. Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle\'s electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. Job Responsibilities:The Credit and Collections Supervisor performs the following tasks:•Plans, delegates, and directs the work of subordinates engaged in office and field account collection activities.•Evaluates and prioritizes daily workload, assigns work to subordinates, and monitors overall production to ensure that account delinquencies are maintained within acceptable limits and collection activities are in compliance with applicable laws, ordinances and procedural guidelines.•Supervises ELIA (Emergency Low Income Assistance), Project Share, Special Damage Claims, Inactive Accounts, Bankruptcies and Probates.•Performs supervisory duties, including directing, motivating, training, counseling and disciplining employees, conducting performance reviews, workplace and performance expectations, labor and union issues, approving or denying requests for vacations or leaves of absences, reviewing work products, and making hiring recommendations. Provides coaching and feedback to staff. Monitors overall performance of subordinates.
