Rampart Street Music is a New Orleans owned and operated, independent record label whose studio is located in the world famous 9th ward neighborhood of New Orleans. The state of the art, 32-track recording studio is managed by JOYFUL musician Alfred Caston who, along with business partners Jessie Veal and Albert Mickel, contributed their gig monies to the development of the studio and label which is managed buy the JOYFUL Music Group.Rampart Street Music has developed into a label whose mission is to help local and regional acts realize their lifelong dreams. Some of the more noted acts are the Friendly Travelers, Lyle Henderson, and Sjuwana Byers & Children of God, Mike & Moni, Ray Iglehart and J.C. & Company.Rampart Street Music first entered the national top 40 gospel charts in August 1996 with Lyle Henderson’s “I Cannot Go Back,” which was quickly followed with Mike & Moni’s “Jesus, You’re My Joy” and Sjuwana Byers’ “Nobody’s Fault.” To date, Rampart Street Music and the JOYFUL Music Group has produced more than two-dozen, full-length recordings since it’s inception in 1996.
