WORK HISTORY
Research Chemist Intern @Milvus Advanced
Oxford, GB
Since joining Milvus Advanced, I have been contributing to our ongoing project aimed at developing a more efficient water electrolyser, by replacing the costly platinum and iridium based electrodes used in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Milvus Advanced is an Oxford-based start-up developing novel nanomaterials from earth-abundant resources to accelerate the transition to green technologies. Currently, we are using hydrogen technologies as a test bed for implementing our nanomaterials and have successfully developed alternatives to precious metals such as the Platinum Group Metals. In our interdisciplinary lab, which includes members specialising in fields ranging from medicinal chemistry to electrochemistry, I consistently seek to expand my understanding by engaging with each team member about their research topics, including their doctoral theses.I am also preparing to embark on a new project in the US focused on microbial fuel cells, specifically exploring the use of Geobacter and Shewanella to leverage their natural OER and HER processes.
