ABOUT ALEXXA NEWMAN
As the Development Manager at Paul \"Bear\" Bryant Awards, I work for the American Heart Association to change lives through fundraising and non-profit development. I develop strategies to cultivate relationships and engage new donors, prepare and maintain fundraising materials and presentations, and provide oversight and direction to the young professionals group. I also evaluate and manage vendor relationships, assist in event and sponsorship activation, and coordinate all event logistics and oversee the internship program. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development, with a specialization in All-Level Special Education. I have 70+ days of in-person teaching experience in an Early Childhood Special Education placement, where I developed instruction plans for students with disabilities and assisted with the writing and implementation of Individualized Education Plans. I have strong experience in event planning, financial record keeping, and donor stewardship. I am skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Effective Communication, Fundraising, Teamwork, and Leadership. Philanthropy has always played a large role in my life and this has continued into my professional career. I have a passion for a life-saving mission and a love of college football, and I strive to further my skills in relationship management and organizational development to support a successful campaign and be a valuable asset to the team.
