ABOUT ALEX TEAGUE PRICSP

With more than a decade of specialist experience in IoT and Operational Technology security, I am a principal vulnerability researcher focused on the devices and systems that underpin critical infrastructure, industrial operations, and connected environments.My work spans the full spectrum of OT and IoT device security from firmware extraction and binary analysis, to engineering protocol dissection, cryptographic assessment, and the identification of insecure-by-design practices that expose organisations to significant operational and safety risk. I have uncovered vulnerabilities across every major attack vector in this space: insecure engineering protocols, broken authentication schemes, flawed firmware update mechanisms, web management plane weaknesses, and denial of service conditions with real-world availability consequences.Beyond the technical work, I have led and developed high-performing vulnerability research teams, building capability from the ground up and mentoring researchers at all levels, from those taking their first steps in embedded security to seasoned practitioners expanding into OT-specific disciplines. This commitment to knowledge transfer extends to formal education: I created and delivered the IoT/OT hacking course on behalf of The Cyber Scheme (CSIP), and have trained practitioners across a range of industry roles. I believe strongly that rigorous, independent research and knowledge transfer are essential to raising the baseline across this industry.I work closely with organisations to translate complex technical findings into clear, prioritised risk, informing procurement decisions, shaping remediation strategies, strengthening detection capability, and supporting compliance with frameworks including NIS2 and IEC62443.If your organisation operates OT or IoT devices and wants to understand its true exposure not the vendor\'s version of it I would welcome a conversation.
