Based in DAZN’s Leeds, UK office, I lead a team of 17 Application Support Specialists and 2 Seniors, while working closely with and guiding a team of 10 specialists in Hyderabad, India. Together, we monitor and support over events, user journeys, and platform systems and services weekly across DAZN’s global network.Operating on a 24/7 rotation, we ensure seamless delivery for both live and on-demand content — maintaining the health of broadcast operations, key systems, and front-end and back-end services such as authentication, rails, playback, entitlements, content portability, etc. We proactively identify, triage, and escalate issues to minimize impact to users worldwide.We also drive live event readiness, performing tests and performance checks ahead of major releases, app updates, and broadcasts. We collaborate with, developers, engineers, ICs, MCR, TX, CDN, VDP, customer services, local content teams, and partners — including Amazon, YouTube, and regional OTT broadcasters such as Foxtel, Movistar, Tivusat, and Sky — to ensure flawless delivery.As Team Lead, I keep workflows efficient and communication clear across departments. I manage the team’s schedule, annual leave, absences, and recruitment; implement a skill matrix to track and develop staff; and hold monthly one-to-ones to support growth and engagement. Other Key Responsibilities- Deliver incident reports via Halo to senior leadership and the CTO- Maintain the disaster recovery plan for live content- Oversee new release testing (PPV events, new features, app versions)- Streamline tasks and workflows via Jira- Implement process improvements, including a new DR workflow, partner integrations, team newsletters, and improved communications- Manage the department’s SharePoint portal and Confluence knowledge baseLeading this team is both a challenge and a privilege — every week brings new events, technology, and opportunities to improve how DAZN delivers sport to fans worldwide.
