About Alexsandra Gao
I’m a software engineer with around four years of experience building and operating production systems across backend and platform engineering. Currently at Veeva, I work on DevOps and platform infrastructure—owning CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation using AWS and Terraform. I’ve also led test infrastructure efforts, including scaling Selenium-based E2E testing for internal applications.Prior to that, I was at VMware, where I built distributed systems and network monitoring features in Python and Java that supported large-scale environments with over devices. Across my internship roles, I’ve focused on reliability, scalability, and improving developer productivity.I hold a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Columbia University, where I graduated in May 2022. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with the long-term goal of making technology more accessible for disabled individuals, especially in high-impact domains like drug discovery and cancer research.Outside of engineering, I enjoy baking, gymnastics, skating, and surfing. I’m always open to connecting and exchanging ideas, please feel free to reach out or send a message!
