ABOUT ALEX SABY
I am a Master’s student in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Hochschule Darmstadt, specializing in Embedded Systems and Microelectronics, with a strong interest in RF circuits, signal integrity, PCB design, hardware validation, and embedded systems. I still remember the moment I stopped trusting simulations alone. I was standing in a lab late in the evening, oscilloscope fan humming, probing a high-speed line that looked perfect in the Layout tool but completely wrong on the screen. The eye diagram refused to open, reflections showed up where none were “supposed” to exist, and no amount of parameter tweaking made the mismatch disappear. That was the moment I realized how often real hardware quietly breaks our assumptions. That experience changed how I approach hardware engineering. Instead of starting with equations and hoping reality follows, I learned to work in the opposite direction, observe first, measure carefully, then explain what the physics is actually doing. Through hands-on work in high-speed hardware validation as an intern and now followed by an industry Master’s thesis at Bosch, I have built an approach centered on transmission lines, group delay, and multi-GHz behavior where PCB layout decisions directly shape system performance. I am most comfortable where theory, layout, and lab measurements collide. My philosophy is simple. Hardware always tells the truth if you listen closely enough. I believe good engineering is not about forcing designs to match models, but about building intuition that survives contact with real signals, real noise, and real constraints. Beyond engineering, I enjoy working in international environments and learning from different cultures. I value teamwork, structured problem-solving, and continuous learning.
