About Alex Potchernikov
I am a M.S. graduate in Biomedical Engineering, as well as B.S. graduate in both Chemical and Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. I have worked as a research associate in the Cook Cardiopulmonary Engineering Lab at CMU, making sure other graduate students can run their studies effectively and performing my own work towards grant aims. As past of my M.S. project, I worked on analyzing novel anticoagulation methods while completing course work towards a Masters degree. I have previously interned at Abiomed working on the OXY-1 ECMO team working on improving traceability and device performance metrics.I am very Interested in gaining experience in both academic research and industry, and I dream of combining the two. I am especially passionate about the interdisciplinary aspect of my majors and combining the knowledge from them to eventually apply in industry or medicine.
