About Alexander Ollerton
I am a trained chemist turned data analyst. I have a diverse background with prior work experience in healthcare, higher education, and, of course, a lab. Currently I am a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant at Wells Fargo. I joined Wells Fargo through a highly competitive early talent/careers program. I currently work and live in Des Moines, IA and have been with Wells Fargo for over 4 years. Prior to joining Corporate Risk as a data analyst, I worked in Internal Audit as an Audit Manager and Credit Risk as a credit risk specialist. My goal is to make positive changes in the world and make the workplace more equitable.I equate being a data analyst to being a detective. I love being able to dig into data and find trends, anomalies, and share the results with the business. I also enjoy enhancing current processes in order to run more efficiently. Through my detective work I have been able to find gaps, figure out solutions, and execute changes in an effective manner, saving the business and end users time and money.I am a lifelong learner and love to learn. One topic I am particularly interested in is Machine Learning. When I am not working or learning, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring new food options, going to Broadway shows, and playing board games and video games.
