About Alex Newman

I am a VP Wealth Management Advisor at TIAA with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. I am passionate about helping my clients work towards a successful retirement. I am fortunate that everyday I get to share my life experiences and help my clients achieve their financial goals. I grew up in the English seaside city of Brighton & Hove. I started my career as an Equity Research Analyst covering emerging Internet technologies in the 1990s at two global investment banks in London and New York. I then spent 1 year backpacking in Asia, South America and Australasia where I met my wife from Long Island on a 2-week adventure in Vietnam. I relocated to New York in 2005 and currently reside in Croton-on-Hudson, NY with my wife Pam and three sons, Max, Henry and Jack. In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, skiing and paddle boarding, read extensively about personal finance and global markets/economics, I am a leader in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and run the local youth soccer program for over 400 kids in the community. We have two dogs - a half Shih-Tzu and half Bichon Frise mix called Gizmo and Goldendoodle puppy called Rosie. My friends think I should get \'proper dogs\'.
