WORK HISTORY
Senior Product Manager @Zalando
Berlin, DE
Owned a portfolio of data-driven products serving thousands of users across four European markets, spanning real-time monitoring systems, resource allocation algorithms, and automated workplace tools.Built and scaled an IoT monitoring programme from concept to 2,500+ sensors across 4 countries, generating real-time occupancy data that reduced space planning decision cycles from weeks to hours. Designed a parallel two-vendor pilot with pre-defined success criteria (data accuracy >95%, uptime >99.5%) to validate before committing capital. Now integrating sensors with the meeting room booking system to auto-release no-show bookings; early data shows 15-20% of rooms go unused.Negotiated and closed a $4M vendor contract as primary commercial lead, delivering 18% cost reduction through structured benchmarking.Owned an desk booking platform across 6 European markets. Identified a gap between high daily usage and low actual utilisation (booking-to-check-in ratio below 60%). Led decommissioning through a controlled 4-week pilot, structured feedback (n=200+), and delivered the recommendation. Result: €300K+ annual savings, zero disruption.Designing a fair allocation algorithm for corporate parking: 300 lots, thousands of users, first-come-first-served logic so broken users built bots. Shifting to request-based allocation with a fairness optimisation layer.Influenced IoT strategy and €2-5M annual investment decisions at Director level without formal authority.

ABOUT ALEXANDER NEUHOFER
I turn ambiguous problems into measurable outcomes through structured experimentation: forming hypotheses, defining success criteria, running controlled tests, and letting evidence drive decisions. At Zalando, I own a portfolio of data-driven products serving thousands of users across four European markets. I took an IoT monitoring programme from concept to a 2,500-sensor international deployment, designing a parallel two-vendor pilot with pre-defined success criteria to validate before committing capital. When the data showed an platform wasn\'t earning its keep (booking-to-check-in ratio below 60%), I led the case to kill it. Result: €300K+ annual savings, zero operational disruption. I\'m currently designing a fair allocation algorithm for a constrained supply/demand system where the existing logic was so broken that users built bots to game it. Outside of work, I ship products independently. StayScape is a live AI travel planning assistant (stayscape.vercel.app) built with a React frontend, Anthropic Claude API with real-time web search, Upstash Redis for shareable URLs, and Vercel Analytics for usage tracking. Rise is a holistic fitness and wellbeing app that unifies workout tracking, nutrition, wearable data, blood work, and AI-assisted supplement recommendations into a single experience. What connects my enterprise work and my independent building: I care about closing the gap between fragmented data and real human decisions. Exploring Product Manager roles internationally (remote or relocation). Particularly drawn to teams where speed of experimentation, quantitative rigour, and user obsession define how products get built. Let\'s talk.
