About Alexis Nguyen

Graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelors\' of Science in Civil engineering and a minor in Business Administration in May 2022. Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) in April 2022. Enjoys traveling, staying active, and experiencing new cultures. My goal is to obtain an engineering position at an esteemed firm where I can exercise my creativity, gain valuable experience, and learn more about sustainable design. I have 3 years of relevant internship experience at Fenstermaker & Associates and Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. As an intern, I practiced technical skills with Microsoft programs, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ArcGIS. I\'ve assisted in conducting traffic impact studies following LADOTD guidelines and supported reports with peak observations, geometric field checks, crash history, and trip generations. I gained knowledge about drainage design, traffic systems, timber bridge replacements, and construction work. My senior capstone project allowed me to research residential roof resistance under hurricane wind conditions by calculating structural analysis with ASCE 07-16 and shadowing my mechanical engineering teammates as they utilized ANSYS Fluent to obtain pressure and velocity values.In 20••••22, I served as MSU Student Chapter President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and a member of Louisiana Engineering Society (LES), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Cowboys 4 Christ (C4C). I was crowned \"Ms. McNeese\" in the spring of 2022.
