About Alexis Hughes

I’m an aspiring middle school STEM educator with a heart for empowering students during one of the most pivotal seasons of their lives. Soon, I’ll be stepping into the classroom, but my passion for teaching has been growing for years—rooted in my own journey through middle school, which was filled with growing pains, self-discovery, and the search for belonging.Because of those experiences, I carry what I call a “cheerleader heart”—I’m naturally wired to encourage, uplift, and champion the unique potential within every student. My hope is to create a classroom environment where curiosity is welcomed, confidence is built, and each child feels safe and seen.My path to education has been anything but traditional. After time in the healthcare field, I began to feel a deep pull toward something more purpose-driven. Through prayer, reflection, and a whole lot of faith, I realized that teaching wasn’t just a new career—it was a calling. I truly believe God is in the details and has been guiding me every step of the way.As I step into this new chapter as a STEM teacher, my goal is simple: to be a steady voice of encouragement, to teach with joy and clarity, and to help students not only learn—but believe in themselves.
