ABOUT ALEXIS CRASE

When I was three years old, I was sitting in a shopping cart as my dad pushed it down a grocery aisle. As we passed another shopper, I confidently declared, “That’s despicable!” The woman stared at my dad, shocked that such a tiny human had delivered such a big word—but expressive language had always been my norm. While I’m no longer a small child surprising strangers with bold vocabulary choices, I still love stopping people in their tracks with the words I choose and the creativity behind them. Whether I’m crafting a punchy social media caption or championing the Oxford comma, I believe communication should be both clear and artful. I remain a proud member of the grammar police—what you say can and will be used to teach better writing.Today, I channel that passion for language into my work as a 6th Grade Resource Teacher at Edna Hill Middle School in Brentwood Union School District. I support students with diverse learning needs, empower them to discover their strengths, and help them build confidence as readers, writers, and thinkers. My instructional focus is rooted in accessibility, advocacy, and the belief that every student deserves an environment where they can thrive.I am also completing my second master’s degree in Special Education, continuously expanding my knowledge to better serve students and families. At heart, I am an educator, communicator, and lifelong learner—committed to helping young people find their voice just as I found mine.
