About Alexis Coca
My journey into healthcare began not in a classroom, but in doctors\' offices, translating for my non-English-speaking father. What was once a childhood responsibility ignited my lifelong mission: to build a healthcare system where no one feels unheard or unseen due to language barriers or their background. This personal drive led me to work as a Diagnostic Coordinator at a mental health facility, where I witnessed the direct impact of compassionate and accessible care. That experience solidified my resolve and inspired me to pursue a Master of Health Administration (MHA) at Cornell University to learn how to scale that impact system-wide.As a prospective MHA candidate and a first-generation Mexican American woman, I bring a unique perspective rooted in lived experience. I am passionate about leveraging my background in sociology and my professional experience to advocate for underserved communities. My goal is to develop and implement strategies that create true health equity.I am always grateful to the mentors and sponsors who have guided me, and I am eager to connect with others dedicated to creating positive, meaningful change in healthcare.
