ABOUT ALEXIS-CARLOTA COCHRANE

Hi! I’m a researcher, educator, and strategist working at the intersection of digital rights, online safety, and equity in online spaces. Currently a PhD Candidate and Sessional Instructor at McMaster University, my work explores how digital platforms contribute to technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) and digital harms, as well as how users reclaim these spaces for activism, creativity, and community. I am especially focused on building safer, more inclusive platforms that promote equity and digital justice for all. My work spans academia, community organizations, and the tech industry—and has even brought me to the United Nations to speak on digital rights and gender equity. With a focus on intersectional approaches to digital equity, safety, and justice, I’m passionate about translating research into inclusive digital solutions, policies, resources, and programs that drive impactful change. Always open to consulting, collaborations, and conversations on building just and inclusive digital worlds. Get in Touch at a••••••••@gmail.com
