I am the Managing Editor at the Africa edition of Semafor, a digital media company launched in October 2022. I joined Semafor from the Financial Times in this role to help launch the Africa edition. My role at Semafor Africa is to commission and edit stories from a team of staff reporters and freelancers across the continent to shape our news coverage, as well as reporting and writing my own stories. A large part of the role involves working with colleagues to produce the Semafor Africa newsletter which seeks to act as an intelligent guide to the news and analysis from the world’s fast-growing continent that is published two to three times each week.
