ABOUT ALEXIS YIM

Currently a Politics, Philosophy, and Law undergraduate, my journey began when I received a 50% merit scholarship to pursue the International Baccalaureate at UWC ISAK Japan. That opportunity shaped much of who I am today: someone who thrives in international, purpose-driven environments and believes deeply in the power of youth-led change.Since then, I’ve taken on leadership roles in student-led initiatives that centre on equity, education, and intercultural dialogue, from directing Southeast Asian Week to co-founding The Roundtable, a platform showcasing diverse youth perspectives across 180+ students. I\'m passionate about legal reform, cultural equity, and public education, themes that continue to shape my academic and extracurricular interests.I’ve interned at law firms in Singapore, Indonesia, and the UK, joined competitive legal insight programmes, and currently support public engagement and outreach at the Indonesia Justice Reform Institute (IJRI). I also founded The Batik Vision, a digital zine bridging traditional Indonesian aesthetics with global youth culture, which reached over readers.I’m currently studying Politics, Philosophy, and Law at the University of Warwick, where I achieved a 69.5% average in my first year. I continue to grow through both academic challenges and hands-on experience, and I’m always looking for new ways to contribute to meaningful, cross-sector conversations.
