Propose, prepare and deliver conference sessions on federal afterschool policy, afterschool research and advocacy techniques at various national and state afterschool and education conferences. • Identify, organize and moderate panel discussions of current out-of-school time practitioners, leading experts and scholars at conferences and Congressional briefings.• Direct the Alliance’s multi-state AmeriCorps VISTA project, including direct management of up to 20 VISTAs placed in 14 states. • Manage combined project budgets of nearly $1 million.• Provide direct supervision of Field Outreach Associate, Project Associate, and STEM Specialist.• Guide the Field Outreach team to create professional development and training sessions for VISTA members.• Originated the Afterschool Alliance Youth Ambassador program, providing leadership development opportunities to 5 outstanding students representing 4 states. • Provide technical support to state-level advocates leading education outreach campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of afterschool and summer learning programs.• Advocate on behalf of afterschool programs in meetings with Members of Congress and their staff, White House staff, U.S. Department of Education officials, and allied organizations.• Represent the Afterschool Alliance in meetings with foreign officials, academics and education professionals, discussing how American afterschool programs can be replicated internationally.
