ABOUT ALEXIS MCCARTHY
I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Sacred Heart University, where I am expanding my knowledge of education, human development, and effective teaching practices. My passion for working with children has been shaped by years of hands-on experience, both in and out of the classroom.In addition to student teaching in diverse elementary classrooms in Bridgeport and Fairfield, Connecticut, I have extensive experience babysitting and have served as the Assistant Director of a summer camp for children ages 3–6 for the past six years. These roles have taught me how to connect with young learners, support their emotional development, and create safe, engaging environments for growth and exploration.My classroom experiences have strengthened my skills in classroom management, differentiated instruction, and fostering a growth mindset. I am especially passionate about helping students build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
