ABOUT ALEXIS DOYLE
I have over 20 years previous experience of working in education and supporting children with additional needs. I have worked in mainstream, PRUs and resourced provisions as a teacher and SENCo. My passion led me to train as a Specialist Teacher of SLCN/SpLD and dual qualify as a Speech and Language Therapist.I currently work with children and young people with SEMH and language difficulties who are at risk of permanent exclusion from school as part of an Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce. I also work part time within the Youth Justice System. I am passionate about raising awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and was proud to win a Giving Voice award by the RCSLT for my work in this area. I continue on my mission to educate people about DLD, it needs to be on everyone\'s radar! Research interests include DLD, SEMH, children excluded from school and young people in touch with the youth justice system.#childfirst #traumainformed #youth justice
