Alexia Sikora is a seasoned communications professional who uses her experience in both the public and private sectors to secure top-tier media coverage, shape the narrative around priority issues, and develop successful strategic communications campaigns. She currently works as a communications expert at the U.S. House of Representatives, where she specializes in translating complex policy issues into articulate and powerful messages. Alexia strives to be at the forefront of the news cycle, pushing issues that matter to her member and reaching target audiences to highlight the work being done in Congress each day. She is used to working in high pressure and fast-paced environments where delivering results and responses on tight and competing deadlines are a daily task. Additionally, she has volunteered and aided GOTV efforts for competitive general election and primary campaigns. She previously worked as an Associate at The Harbour Group where she supported public relations and public affairs campaigns for the firm’s corporate, association, startup and nonprofit clients. With a focus on strategic communications, she worked on behalf of clients in the fields of healthcare and technology. Alexia specialized in research, content creation, media monitoring, rapid response and media outreach. Alexia worked on biopharmaceutical industry policy issues for PHRMA and BIO. She monitored and conducted rapid response, promoted events and wrote press releases, blogs and targeted pitches. For AT & T, Alexia conducted media outreach to promote various wireless network enhancements, CSR initiatives, local events and corporate news in addition to writing feature story pitches. She has secured broadcast, print, online, blog and social media coverage to help position AT & T as a local leader in the DMV community. Alexia also worked closely with Optoro, a DC startup, to highlight the company’s thought leadership in technology and sustainability.
