As Chief Operating Officer and Associate Executive Director for FPWA, a leading social policy and advocacy organization working to dismantle structural and systemic barriers to economic security and to support human services agencies caring for low income New Yorkers, Alexandros (Alex) Hatzakis oversees organization-wide operations and strategic growth and management.Drawing on nearly two decades of professional and lived experience, including developing and implementing demonstrative key initiatives addressing household insecurity and advocating for programs and policies essential for economic security, Alex’s work ensures FPWA and its member agencies are equipped to help New Yorkers move beyond just meeting basic needs to achieve true and sustainable security. Alex has guided FPWA through transformational strategic planning, aligning all agency operations with our vision for a New York where economic security is attainable for all. His behind-the-scenes leadership fuels the organization’s champion groundbreaking initiatives, including the national campaign for measuring the true cost of economic security. Over the course of his tenure, Alex has spearheaded critical and consequential programming, including a statewide $5.5 million \"Roll Up Your Sleeves NY\" pop up campaign to address in real time health inequity during the COVID-19 pandemic, all while maintaining FPWA’s operational stability to serve agencies caring for people made vulnerable. His early achievements include overseeing the strategic sale of FPWA\'s landmark building and buildout of its headquarters and state-of-the-art conference center at 40 Broad Street which serves as a convening space for nonprofits and community partners.A former Chair of NYC\'s Procurement Policy Board, he holds an MPA from NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, a Bachelor of Science from Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College, and certifications in nonprofit accounting (CNAP) and HR (SHRM-SCP).
