ABOUT ALEX GURVICH

I am a Head of Alternatives, Private Markets and Investment Manager Research and Allocation, managing multi-asset portfolios for Endowments, Foundations, and Retirement Plans. As an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) I manage a team of research analysts and oversee discretionary investment managers. I am a voting member of the Investment Committee, Manager Selection Working Group, and Endowments and Foundations Working Group.I lead manager and investment research and underwrite manager selection for public equity, private equity, venture capital, private debt/credit, private real estate and infrastructure, private infrastructure.I serve on the boards of endowment, educational, and non-profit institutions, providing investment management and portfolio expertise to sustain growth and fulfill investment, education, and mission objectives.Previously, I managed investment portfolios and developed and provided quantitative equity research, risk management, asset allocation, and multi-asset portfolio construction, including asset allocation, forecasting expected returns and risk. I established a successful track record for systematic, long and long/short equity sector rotation strategies. I developed and built a quantitative ESG low carbon, green technology stock selection and screening process and implemented it in a multi-asset portfolio, utilizing statistical methods, regression analysis, factor modeling, and time series analysis for building and trading investment portfolios.I launched and managed a mutual fund and the first long/short active Exchange Traded Funds (ETF).I earned my doctorate degree (PhD) in financial engineering with a dissertation focused on developing a carbon risk framework. I successfully published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
