ABOUT ALEX GUILLEN
Innovation at the Intersection of Music, Technology, and Experience DesignI build AI-powered tools for creative businesses using Claude Code and teach non-technical professionals how to do the same. As founder of Pacific Flow Entertainment, I design cultural programming for San Diego’s luxury hospitality market, and I use AI to run every layer of the operation, from lead response to venue intelligence to gig preparation.I’ve spent 30+ years as a professional guitarist performing 2,500+ events at San Diego’s top venues including Hotel del Coronado, Fairmont Grand Del Mar, Lodge at Torrey Pines, Rancho Valencia, La Valencia. Berklee degree, 500+ song repertoire, bilingual performer across Spanish guitar, flamenco, Latin jazz, and classical traditions. Now I’m building the infrastructure layer for all of it with AI. I use Claude Code daily to develop production tools: a live audience song request app (LiveRequest), a voice-memo-driven venue intelligence database (Pacific Flow Intel), a lead qualification and response system, and an AI Literacy Game for music education. I’ve built 17+ custom Claude skills that compound business intelligence across my operation.I also teach what I build. I developed a hands-on AI workshop for small business owners and creatives where participants build a working Claude Project in 90 minutes, not just watch a demo. My framework: “System Before Agents” and stable foundations before automation. “Human-Led AI” with humans at the start and end, AI handling the middle.Community building is the through line. I founded the San Diego Professional Musicians Collective (2013), the San Diego Game Dev Collective (2014), and previously organized the SD Jazz Collective and SD Acoustic Guitar Collective. I teach music at three schools serving underserved and neurodiverse communities and have written $70K+ in grants for cultural education partners.Currently publishing a three-part Substack essay series (“Something Different Is Happening”) on AI and human cognition, with 59 verified citations.
