I am a California CPA with 28 years of experience in U.S. tax. Currently, I serve as a U.S. Tax Partner at EY Montreal.Previously, I was Venture Capital Tax Director at PwC in San Jose, where my clients provided VC funding to companies from inception through growth stages in sectors such as consumer internet and media, computing and storage infrastructure, semiconductors, mobile, security, renewable energy, and life sciences, both inside and outside the U.S. In that role, I managed tax compliance for various VC funds, including the largest client of that office, as well as clients with funds in initial or winding-down stages, mid-size funds, and funds-of-funds.In Canada, I worked as Senior Tax Advisor at Ivanhoe Cambridge (IC), a global real estate investment company with $42B in total assets at the time and a subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. At IC, I had overall management responsibility for U.S. tax compliance, performed statistical analysis for managerial accounting purposes, and assisted the transactions group in sales, mergers, and acquisitions.
