About Alex Culley
As the Executive Director of the Institute for Executive Development (IED), I have had the privilege of leading and co-leading various organizational development efforts. My focus spans leading change and transformation, team effectiveness, leadership performance, and strategic planning.I have a relaxed and engaging style, which enables me to connect with people, establish rapport, build trust, and accelerate the problem-solving process. Throughout my career, I have conducted extensive interviews with leaders across all levels of organizations and facilitated numerous focus groups, gaining invaluable insights from diverse perspectives.One of my notable achievements is the creation of a development program called \"Digital Sophistication.\" This program has helped leaders enhance their understanding of digital effectiveness in today\'s rapidly evolving landscape. Additionally, the workshop I developed on Learning and Leading Five Generations in the workplace has received fantastic feedback from participants. I am dedicated to revitalizing and repositioning IED\'s programs and product offerings to better align with the needs of our fast-paced digital world.I am certified as an executive coach through the prestigious Marshall Goldsmith Behavior Coaching process. This certification has allowed me to coach professionals in various industries, including hospitality, healthcare, law enforcement, and higher education. I find great fulfillment in supporting individuals on their leadership journeys.Prior to my career in leadership and professional development, I gained valuable experience in consumer research. I had the opportunity to work at the University of Southern California\'s College of Arts, Letters, and Science, as well as Breakthrough Research in Los Angeles. Through these experiences, I developed a deep understanding of leading practices in research methodology, survey design, and data analytics. I worked on projects for well-known brands like Home Depot, Sony, Jack in the Box, and Honda.On a personal note, I am proud to be a descendant of one of the founding families of Las Vegas, the Chavezs. My great-grandfather, Jesus Chavez, moved to Las Vegas in 1922 with his family to work as a foreman in the gypsum mine on the outskirts of the city. Now, I love spending time with my wife, Katie (also a UNLV alumna), our dog Butters, and our family. With a passion for development and a rich background in leadership, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the field of executive development and helping individuals achieve their full potential.
